About this App

'Appiness'

The pure joy of Wonderful Web Apps for Brilliant Beer Fests!

This app was created by BeerFestBuzz for your festival host.

BeerFestBuzz apps are what's termed Progressive Web Apps. Woooooo!

This is mainly because we listened to your feedback (we do, y'know!) and to ensure that everyone... iOS users, Android, Blackberry, Windows even desktop users!... can access all the beery fun we redesigned our app content to be delivered via web browsers rather than online stores.

Erm... like a website, then?

Well, yes and no.

Although Progressive Web Apps are accessed via your browser like a regular website, they can do much more. Plus, they generally have the look and feel of native apps.

Frictionless

... they call it.

App-like stuff without the faff of having to download and install anything from Google Play or the App Store.

And no need to worry about it not being available for your device. Just visit any BeerFestBuzz app via your usual browser and start checking out some fab fest info.

Oooo, and our apps work offline!

Quite a biggie in areas where connections can be a bit iffy: which is pretty much everywhere we are. Sigh!

Making it BEAUTIFUL

The look of beery love.

If you find yourself repeatedly visiting one or any of our fest apps we heartily recommend that you do the 'Add To Home Screen' thing. Launched from a home screen icon the app'll look all lovely without all that nasty old browsery stuff going on around it.

FILTERING & rating THE BEERS

A style to suit.

In the top right hand corner of the beer lists' title bar (and on all of the lists) you'll spot a small 'filter' icon. Just click to reveal a search field and style menus that can help you find the sort of ale (or cider or perry) that you're keen to try.

You can 'star rate' items - and 'favourite' them, too. It's just for your own benefit, though, as preferences are subjective, and we wouldn't wish to predujice against particular beers or styles by having public ratings.

Do note...
Your ratings and favourites are stored locally; so will only show up on the device you made them on - i.e. don't store choices on your desktop computer if you know you'll want to view them on your phone. Make them on the device you want to see them on.

TASTING NOTES

And other stuff.

All the fest info, including details of and tasting notes for the beers and ciders etc, is provided to us by the festival host.

If you discover a tyyyypo or feel that there's an inaccuracy somewhere do please give us a shout and we'll do our very best to amend the info as swiftly as possible.

Please be gentle

Minds have been boggled.

Progressive Web Apps are a foray into a new and shiny dimension for us. There are so many features that can be added that we're rather like kids in a candy shop (or beer drinkers in a ... um... beery shop).

However, our immediate priority has been to act upon your feedback and rollout apps that're accessible across all platforms. Hence our apps not being rammed to the rafters with much 'stuff' just yet.

That said, we're genuinely keen to progressively (can y'see what we did there?) add extra bits and bobs as time goes on. So, if there's something you're craving, something you'd like us to put on a wishlist, just give us a shout. If we can stop drinking beer for long enough we'll do our best to get right on it.

Cheeeeeeeeeeeers!
